Yes I disappeared again..

Hi everyone.. I know I disappeared again for a month. But I was busy trying to sort out a few issues. Now that all is well and back on track I am also back to the blogging world.

i-am-back

Anyways how has your first month of the new year been? Mine has been better than last year. Plus I have been working on my goals for this year. I have been exercising regularly. I think I have missed maximum 1 or 2 days. So that’s been a positive for me. Plus I am also busy reading. If you remember I had told you about a reading challenge that I am going to be participating in this year.

I went to Barnes and Nobel and bought a few books to kickstart the same. Even though I have not finished reading all that I bought I read a few in few one of the categories – Read a book published between 1900 and 1950s. I read 2 books in this category And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie and Animal Farm by George Orwell. For the category – Read a book about books, I am currently reading Mr. Penumbra’s 24 Hour Book Store  by Robin Sloan. Will tell you how I find this book soon.

I loved Animal Farm. This book was published in 1945. If you read the preface of the book,  they say that this book was written as a satire on where the Soviet politics was headed during those times. I am not a fan of politics. I follow it because we have to keep ourselves informed not because I have any interest in it. But even if this book is rooted in politics I have loved it. Each and every character has been thoughtfully written by George Orwell. I’ll do a post on it soon.

And Then There Were None is a mystery novel which I had read around 15 years back. And I reread it again because of this challenge. This was published in 1939. Agatha Christie has a beautiful way of keeping us hooked to the story. And this story has so many twists and turns that you’ll find it hard to guess the actual culprit. This book has been adapted into movies in so many different languages. In Bollywood this was adapted as the movie Gumnaam.

Have any of you read any of  these books? Do let me know your impressions on the same.

  2. Welcome back, Lochan! I’ve missed you. Although, I must say I’m really proud of you for focusing on your goals like exercising and the reading challenge.

I think it’s okay not to blog for a while to tend to other priorities. Although I would hope to see more of you here… I feel good to know that you are doing well. So thanks for writing back.

P.S. I’ve been reading Animal Farm. I have not finished it yet, but it is very thought-provoking and I love it too! ❤
